Another classic traverse in Banff National Park takes you from Bow Hut across the Balfour Col to Sherbrooke Lake in 4 days, with stays at the Bow Hut, Balfour Hut, and Scott Duncan Hut. There's no shortage of iconic ski lines around the Balfour Hut, which is why we offer the option of adding a day there to explore some of these. The traverse starts in the same as the classic Wapta Traverse, with a 4-5 hr hike, following the icy waters flowing off the Bow Glacier, up to the comfort of Bow Hut, before heading southeast across the Wapta Icefield towards Balfour Col and beyond.
