A popular traverse in Banff National Park, this iconic traverse of 3-days sees you pass from the Bow hut to the Peyto hut. This traverse offers a relaxed stroll over the Wapta Icefield, passing around some super picturesque peaks from the surrounding mountains. Starting from Bow Lake, a 1.5hr from central Banff, it is a fantastic opportunity for those adventurous types to explore a small part of the Wapta Icefield. With roughly a 4-5 hr hike, following the icy waters flowing off the Bow Glacier, you will arrive at the comfort of Bow hut, run by the Alpine Club of Canada. After a warm comfy sleep, a hot drink and watch as the sun caress St Nic's Peak.
