With the start of this hike only a short drive from the Canmore, and it's looming position over the townsite it's one of the most popular hikes in the Bow Valley. The summit lies roughly 700m (vertical) above the trailhead below, and an at times steep trail winds up the southwest flanks of the peak toward a summit which affords some of the most stunning views of the Bow Valley, Canmore and the prairies to the east and Calgary beyond.

Hikers should expect the ascent to take between 2-4 hours while the entire outting on average takes between 4-6 hours.
